Relevance of Buddha’s Teachings in Today’s World on occasion of Vesakh Buddha Purnima
- As part of the Bodhi Saptaha week-long celebration marking the 2568th Vesak Buddha Purnima, the Mahabodhi Society and Mahabodhi Research Centre organized a special symposium on Sunday, 19th May, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., under the theme “Relevance of Buddha’s Teachings in Today’s World.”
The event featured insightful talks by:
- Bhikkhu Buddhadatta, Director of Mahabodhi Research Centre, who delivered the keynote address. Upasaka Molakalmuru Srinivasamurthy: “Caratha Bhikkhave – A Contemplation on Walking the Dhamma Path” Dr. K. Ramachandra, Principal, Maharani Cluster University: “Navigating the Attha Loka Dhamma in Daily Life” Dr. D. Thejaswini, Research Assistant, Karnataka Sanskrit University: “Buddha – The Social Reformer” Hundreds of upasakas and upasikas attended the event, which was also graced by Ven. Bhikkhu Sugatanada and other venerable Sangha members. The symposium served as a powerful reminder of the enduring relevance of the Buddha’s teachings in contemporary life.
